Kitu Gidwani is an Indian Television and Bollywood actress.

Kitu Gidwani, a Sindhi girl, was born in Mumbai on 22 October 1967 and finished her schooling from Fort Convent School, Mumbai. She has a brother.
The actress was interested in foreign languages like French, and acted in many French plays while in college. Kitu performed in Janak Toprani's English plays, as well as Your Place or Mine by Darshan Jariwala and Sock ’em With Honey.
The actress was married but later divorced her husband. There are rumors that she is seeing New York based writer, Sujay Sood.

The actress has modeled for Wills Lifestyle in 2001 and also promoted the clothing brand, Wills Sport Lifestyle.

Kitu Gidwani started her television career with Trishna in 1984 and her performance was acknowledged in Mahesh Bhatt's Swaabhimaan. She worked in serials like Air Hostess and Junoon. In Junoon, she had a kissing scene with Raj Zutshi which became quite popular. She also appeared in Kasshish by Ravi Rai. Kitu played Antra Singh Rathod in Kulvaddhu, aired on Sony TV. In Shaktimaan (1997) she played a character named Geeta Vishwas for a few months.
MOVIES
Kitu Gidwani won the Best Actress Award at the Three Continents Festival in France for her performance in Rajan Khosla's Dance of the Wind, an art film. In this film she is a Hindustani classical singer Pallavi, who loses her voice after the death of her mother who had been her mentor and subsequently finds her voice.
She has also acted in a French film Black (1987). Deepa Mehta's Earth (1998), Govind Nihalani's Rukhmavati Ki Haveli (1991), and Kamal Haasan's Abhay and Deham (2001) are some of the most famous movies she has acted in. Earth was based on a novel, Cracking India by Bapsi Sidhwa and Gidwani played the character, Bunty Sethna, in this movie.
She played the role of Meghana's mother in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (2008) and was also seen as Anisha Roy in Fashion (2008).
