Manthra alias Raasi alias Vijaya was born on 29th July 1981 in Andhra Pradesh. She is the sweet daughter of Venkatesh – Nagamani couple. She has a brother Vijaya Krishna. She is a Bharathanatyam dancer. She started her career in films when she was a child. Her first film wasGiraftar in Hindi and she continued her career in the film industry through small supporting roles. Her first lead role was in the Tamil film Priyam with actorVijayakumar . Her role of an adorable lover who finally wins the hand of her sweet heart despite the negative knots twisted by the villain played by actor Prakashraj made the youngsters heart skip a beat. She became a popular star over night. She portrayed her glamorous roles in successful films like Love Today , Kalayana Galatta , Rettai Jadai Vayasu , Ganga Gowri , etc. She made her debut in Telugu through the filmSubhskankshalu with actor Jagapatti Babu . The film was a huge hit and soon she had flurry of films. Her consecutive Telugu films Gokulamo Sita , Pelli Pandiri , Manasichichoodu were huge hits and she was praised for her hat –trick success. Her performance as a tormented wife in the Telugu film Snehitilu was appreciated by the public. She portrayed an excellent non glamorous role of a woman who cannot tolerate injustice in the Telugu film Gandhi with actor Rajasekar . She became a popular bollywood actress through her Hindi films Jodidar and Rang Bhang. She got married to Srinivas who is an Assistsant director. She left films after her marriage.
